All About Baby Massage

Massaging your child is a wonderful way to enhance the bond between you and your baby. A relaxing baby massage calms down the baby, helps digestion and facilitates a better sleep. Besides these benefits, it is also one of the most precious moments you and the family can spend with the baby. Find out all about baby massage and pamper your little one with the best care.

Latest researches have shown that baby massage has numerous health benefits for the baby, improving their healthy development and growth. Here are some of the most important health benefits of massaging your child: it enhances blood circulation, improves digestion, helps relieve gas, improves posture and flexibility, strengthens the cardiovascular system, promotes the better functioning of the immune system, increases vitality, facilitates relaxation and aids sleeping, soothing and comforting the baby.

Besides all these wonderful advantages, it is also a great way to develop a better communication between the parents and the newborn, creating a strong bond between them. Follow these steps and learn some simple massage routines in order to nurture your child and give your baby the best care.

  • Find the Right Time

One of the most important things is finding the best time, in order to fully concentrate on your baby without being interrupted. It is equally important to avoid massaging the baby right before and after feeding. The best times are in the mornings when both of you are fresh and in the evening, for the baby to get a good night’s sleep. Usually a baby massage only needs to last for about 15-20 minutes, but it all depends on how the baby reacts to the touch and movement. Insert a daily massage into your program so you can provide your child with delicate care and affection, letting your baby enjoy your nurturing touch.

  • Pay Attention to Comfort

The second important thing after timing is comfort. Make sure you sit or stand comfortable and lay he child on his back on a soft towel because first you will start with massaging the front of the baby and only then the back part. Make sure the room temperature is warm enough and the lighting is soft. Talk and sing to your baby or indulge yourselves with some relaxing music and enjoy the moments spent together.
It is important to respect the baby’s integrity and do what is good for your little one. A newborn generally enjoys less massaging time, while a few month old baby may like to get a longer massage. Check your child’s reactions and continue the massage as long as your baby needs it.

  • Massage Your Baby with Massage Oils

Massage oils have many positive effects on babies, calming them and providing a sense of comfort. Massage time can promote a wonderful attachment between the mother and child and oils play an important role in this process. Another benefit of using massage oils is that they let your hands slide gently on the baby’s body. Opt for natural, edible oils such as grape seed oil or almond oil but you can use pure vegetable oil as well, adding a drop of lavender, vanilla or lemon scent to make the massage even more pleasant. Edible oils are the best option since babies tend to play with their hands or feet and oil can easily get into their mouth. You can also purchase gentle massage oils that are specially designed fort the sensitive skin of the babies. Make sure you avoid using the oil on the baby’s face and head.
Warm the oil into your palms and roll your baby’s arms, sliding your hands on the baby’s chest. Gently massage the tummy from right to the left, using one hand after the other. Walk your fingers on the tummy from left to right and from top to bottom. Roll each leg in your palms and massage the baby’s little feet. Carefully push the knees towards the tummy and count for a few seconds and then repeat the movement. Proceed with massaging the back, using back and forth motions across, and then from the shoulders down to the baby’s feet. End your massage with a gentle kiss.

  • Express your love through your hands when massaging your baby and let the other family members experience these unique feelings as well.

    Living room

    Decorating Ideas for Living Rooms

The living room is the most popular place in a house for the entertainment of guests, and where families come together to end their day, relax after a long workweek or to enjoy a television program together. In most cases this room is on the main level of a home and sees a lot of activity. This is why it is imperative that this area to be decorated and made into a friendly atmosphere to ensure the comfort of visitors. When planning a living room design, the first and most important factor to decide is the purpose of the room. One thing to remember when designing your living area is that you have to be comfortable in the room and like the style since you will most likely be spending a lot of your time in the room.

Nowadays, a lot of people are crowding up places and instead of living in a single detached house, a lot of people are now living in apartments, condominiums and studios. And a lot of these housing types are small in living space. Yet, living in a small space does not mean that you can no longer accentuate your house to make it look fabulous.

List Down The Things to Consider in Decorating a Living Room

Before we start with anything, we have to list down all the things we need to consider in decorating a small living room. With this, we can be more organized and we will know where to start and check if our mission is accomplished at the end of the day.

    Our Decorating Checklist

    1. Walls
The walls can help make or break the design of .your living room. For small spaces, it is much advised to use light and brightly colored walls. Light colors are more reflective, which will help maximize the effect created by natural light. Yet this doesn't mean that you should stick to whites all the time, you can use other hues such as light green, light blue, yellow, beige or cream for your walls. Pastel colors gives an airy feel to your room. Darker shades of red and blue provides a more cozier feel, if you are more comfortable with that
    2. Floor
As much as possible widen the floor. Try not to use a carpet because it will cramp your vision of the floor. Using tiled or laminate flooring can give a lighter and larger appearance to your small living room. Using tiles adds horizontal lines to the floor and accordingly highlights its width.
    3. Windows
Use light gauzy and filmy fabrics for your window treatments. These fabrics let natural light pass through and adds more personality to your living room. Do not overdo and avoid using heavily printed fabrics in a small living room design. Get rid of heavy draperies and open up the windows to let the light of the outdoors into the space.
    4. Furniture
small apartment living room can easily be overwhelmed by excessively large furniture. Trade in bulky furniture for slimmed down pieces. A sofa with scrolled arms can take up to two feet of unnecessary space. Opt instead for straight, narrow arms and you gain living space. This doesn't mean you should buy small furniture, just furniture with a slim silhouette.

After you choose your furniture, you'll need to position it in a way that best organizes and accents your living room. Consider what activities you'll use the living room for. Make sure to provide areas equipped specifically for all the living room endeavors on which you'll embark. Also keep in mind that you may need to walk through your living room (if it's positioned between other rooms), and so you'll have to leave "traffic flow" areas open accordingly.
    5. Mirrors
A mirror is a necessity in a small space. It enhance space through visual illusion. Mirrors reflect light and create an illusion that makes the space feel larger than it is. Add one medium- to large-sized mirror to the focal point of the room to draw the eye as well as diffuse as much light as possible. You can learn to use mirrors cleverly and avoid overwhelming a room with them.

A large mirror in the room will reflect light around the room. The mirrors also reflect both natural and artificial light to make a room brighter during the day and night. They bounce light deep into the room, making it appear larger. This is especially effective with near a window so the outdoors can be reflected.
    6. Lighting

Diet The Best Foods For Getting Fit

Proteins are the most trumpeted of all of the food groups when it comes to those looking to build muscle and strength at the gym. For beginners, it is not necessarily recommended to exceed the daily recommended values of protein, but there are many Americans who are not yet meeting those levels. If you are among those individuals, then increasing protein intake would be a great way to rev up your workout efforts. Consider foods such as fish (which also features very important Omego-3 fatty acids), skinless poultry, beans, peanut butter, tofu, egg whites, and skim milk (or skim milk byproducts such as yogurt and low fat cheese). All of these foods are protein packed. Though, one should keep in mind that in an effort to increase protein it is easy to increase fat intake. Be careful to continue counting calories and manage fat by choosing low fat or no fat alternatives.

Fruits and vegetables are also very important – not just to weight lifters, but to everyone looking to feel and look better. Rich with necessary nutrients and vitamins, foods like spinach, collard greens, asparagus, sweet or hot peppers, apples, pears, and peaches bring vast amounts of fiber that will keep the body feeling full longer and help with digestion. They are also full of the vitamins that the body needs to function at full potential.

    Lose Weight By Eating More

Here are some helpful ways to start eating more:

    • There’s a whole world of fruits and vegetables out there just waiting for you, and you can never eat too many of them. Fruits and vegetables are natural foods that provide essential nutrients for a healthy body. They also contain a lot of water, which helps cleanse the body and fill up the stomach.

Whole grain and fiber-rich foods also fill you up. They are satisfying and healthy and the same time, so you will never feel hungry after eating a decent portion of fiber-rich foods and whole grain.

    • Supplement red meats with healthier meats, such as chicken and pork. You can still make tasty meals, such as stir-fry or turkey burgers that are just as delicious yet a whole lot healthier.

    • Beans and nuts are a great source of protein. If you cut out red meat, make sure that you are getting enough protein in your diet to fuel your workouts.

    • Indulge every once and while. Diets don’t work because they are built around lack and the idea of punishment. Cut yourself some slack and eat some of your favorite foods from time to time. Everything is good in moderation. Keeping certain foods off limits only makes you want them more, and increases your chances of binging in an unhealthy way.

7 Foods That Give You Fuel

In order to get the most out of your workout, you need as much fuel from healthy foods as possible. Otherwise, your body won’t have the sufficient amount of energy it needs to complete the workout. Working out when you feel sluggish and tired isn’t good for you or your body. It can also put a kink into your overall fitness regime. That’s exactly the reason why so many fitness experts recommend fueling up on good foods before working out. When you have a good workout, then you feel motivated and encouraged to keep at it. A poor workout will do the exact opposite. Unfortunately, many people don’t eat the right foods before they workout, and some don’t even bother eating at all. Before your next workout, fuel up on one of the following foods. You’ll be surprised at what a difference they can make.

    1. Beans – beans are full of energy and they pack a hefty punch of protein. It doesn’t matter what type of bean you eat, because they are all naturally good for you. The best part is that they contain a low amount of fat and calories, so you won’t be ruining your diet by eating them. Toss some beans into a salad for lunch and you’ll be ready for a late-afternoon workout.
    2. Fruit – fruit is a great pre-workout energizer, because it contains a high amount of natural sugars. You can easily snack on some fruit while at work or on your way to the gym for some extra bit of energy.
    3. Oatmeal – if you prefer to workout in the morning, then it’s even more important that you eat an energizing meal. Oatmeal is a great breakfast food because it fills you up, provides your body with energy and fiber, and even lowers cholesterol.
    4. Salmon – this lean meat is full of protein and Omega 3 fatty acids, which helps reduce the risk of heart disease. Salmon also helps you build lean muscle and provides a sufficient amount of energy for your workout.
    5. Flax seed – Flax seed is another natural food that is full of Omega 3 fatty acids and variety of other good fats. The great thing about flax seed is that you can add it to cereals, protein shakes and fruit smoothies for an extra bit of energy.
    6. Yogurt – this tasty treat can either be used to supplement meals or eaten as a pre-workout snack. Yogurt is full of Vitamin B, calcium and protein. You can also doctor it up with fruits and nuts for an even more energizing meal.
    7. Peppers – you might not think of a pepper as a fun snack, but peppers provide plenty of Vitamin C, beta-carotene and antioxidants. There are a variety of delicious peppers to choose from, ranging from hot and spicy to sweet and savory. They are just as good raw as they are cooked. You can also easily add them to salads, soups and other dishes to create a healthier meal.

    Eyeliner

    Types Of Eyeliner

There are various types of eyeliner with different formulas that work best for different parts of the eye and for different reasons. If you are just starting out with makeup, or just seeing the power of eyeliner, do not be overwhelmed, learn the different types and figure out which ones work best for you and your look.

    Eyeliner Pencils

Eyeliner pencils are arguably the most basic form of eyeliner. They are easy to use, and do not require any other application tools. Some eyeliner pencils will be harder than others. If you have a hard eyeliner pencil that tends to hurt your eye, warm the pencil by cupping your hand around it or holding a lighter under it for a second. This will make the pencil creamy and apply easier.
Eyeliner pencils can be used on the upper and lower lash lines as well as the water line. They tend to last long because they have a more powdery finish.

    Eyeliner Pens

Eyeliner pens are surging in popularity because of your ability to be extremely detailed and precise. Eyeliner pens may remind you of markers, with felt tips that tend to be very fine. This allows you to get the thinest eyeliner possible, which will look very natural and beautiful. You can also use an eyeliner pen for other detailed work, such as leopard and zebra print designs.
Look for different types of eyeliner pens, some will be more pigmented than others, and some will last longer than others. ELF Cosmetics makes a very fine tipped eyeliner pen that retails for only $1! This is great for anyone experimenting with eyeliner pens.

    Gel / Cream Liners

Gel and cream liners deliver the deepest pigmentation and most dramatic look. These come in a little pot and take some practice. You can apply gel or cream liner with an angeled or fine tipped brush. The thickness of your line is all dependent on your hand, which is why these types of liner take practice to get down.
Gel and cream liners may dry out before you have gotten to use all of the product, which is why I prefer to use drug store cream and gel liners, my favorite of which being the Wet and Wild liner

    Liquid Eyeliner

Liquid eyeliner requires practice and patience to perfect. The entire look is dependent on you and the product is difficult to work with. Liquid eyeliner can run and smudge under the eye easily, delivering a raccoon eye effect. Be sure to always set a liquid eyeliner with eyeshadow so it lasts.
